This year, the TGGS Open House & Summer Camp 2016 took place from 23-25 March 2016 at TGGS Building, KMUTNB campus. It offered students and professionals in engineering help and information to decide on their next career step through several activities.
The three days event included talks by the International German Industry in Thailand to offer insight into what professional and personal qualifications are looked for and what career options are offered. The participants got information on study opportunities and scholarships and talked directly with their future professors, supervisors and the people who are experts in the scholarship system and formalities. Many short workshops were offered to improve their soft skills (for presentation, job interviews, etc.) or to gain an insight into the international teaching style at the TGGS.

The Open House and Summer Camp 2016 began after the opening words of Asst. Prof. Dr. Monpilai Narasingha, TGGS Dean, and a little speech from Mrs. Fanny Meusel, Honorary Guest of honor from Press and Cultural Section of the German Embassy Bangkok.
The morning started with the design competition briefing by Dr.-ing. Alex Brezing, RWTH-DAAD-TGGS Lecturer and Researcher. The event overview and a talk "TGGS: student information" was then given by Asst. Prof. Dr. Tawiwan Kangsadan, TGGS Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Two talks were given afterwards by TGGS lecturers with the topic "RWTH: study opportunities, Alumni, Testimonials" by Dr.-ing. Alex Brezing and an "Education experience in Germany" session by Assoc. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Nisai Fuengwarodsakul, RWTH Aachen University Alumni who is now a lecturer at EPE, TGGS. The morning session was concluded by Dr. Georg Verweyen, Director DAAD Information Center, who had contributed to visitors with the topic “What is DAAD Scholarship” and “How to win the scholarship” and by Mr. Panupong Chantawat , Teacher of Goethe Institute, were invited to contribute the topics including “The Information about Goethe Institute” and “How to speak German by Goethe Institute”.
The afternoon session consists of three motivational talks by Mr. Jeffrey Gaudiano, Managing Director of BMW Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Dr. Matthias Maess, Manager of the Gasoline Systems, Direct Injection and Engineering High Pressure Components from Bosch Automotive Technologies Thailand and last but not least a motivational talk with the topic "Work and Experience as an Engineer in MNC" from Mr. Pasit Kulkitdecharat, Engineering Manager, STC Bangkok, Schaeffler Thailand and Mr. Kittisak Surapongraktrakul, Application engineer, STC Bangkok, Schaeffler Thailand (TGGS, KMUTNB Alumni).

The first workshop of the day has started; "Communication in International Industry and Academia" by Mr. Michael C. Usher, CEO and Founder from ATT, Mr. Simon Jessen, HR Management Trainee from Bosch and Dr.-Ing. Alex Brezing. It was followed by information sharing session "Industrial internship with R&D companies through CRDC-FC" by Dr. Karuna Tuchinda, Director of CRDC-FC and TGGS lecturer, "From academic to R&D" by Commander Dr. Pinai Mungsantisuk, TGGS lecturer and experience exchange by Asst. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Piyada Suwanpinij, RWTH Aachen University Alumni who is now the Program Coordinator and lecturer at MPE Program, TGGS, sharing her research experience in Germany.
The afternoon session consists of two motivational talks. The firs one with the topic "Introduction to German-Thai Chamber of Commerce (GTCC)" by Mr. Philipp Dreher, Project Director, German-Thai Dual Excellence Education (GTDEE) from the German-Thai Chamber of Commerce. and the second one with the topic "TÜV Rheinland, Shaping the future together." by Mr. Stefan Heuer, Managing Director, TÜV Rheinland Thailand Ltd.
During the first two days there was also a job fair for students to get information from and to apply for a job in international companies from Germany such as BMW Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd., TÜV Rheinland Thailand Ltd. and Schaeffler (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

The last day started with the second workshop "Mastering your job interview", by Mr. Michael C. Usher, Mr. Surapol Kokoed, Director of Human Resource Department from BMW Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Dr.-Ing. Alex Brezing. This was followed by the design competition in the topic of Household Waste Management which was joined by many interested students from KMUTNB and other universities. A short idea presentation was held by all participants to all the judges which comprised of industry experts and lecturers. This year we have the winner of the competition that gain big impresssion from our committee. Congratulation to Mr. Tanatchi Wongjirad with the big rewards including the first prize to join the Summer School project in RWTH-Aachen University in Germany plus another prize which is the round-trip ticket to Germany which is supported by BMW Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd., .
